Sterling Silver Mexican Earrings - Man with Sombrero

Sterling Silver earrings of a Mexican man in a pierced serape with his head tucked under a big sombrero. The dangling men are attached to a half-ball earring with screw-back mechanism.

The earrings measure 1-1/2" long x 9/16 wide, and are marked "Sterling" and "925" with some of the letters unstruck. "J_" is faintly impressed in the middle of one mark. The earrings are similar to a Martinez brooch that can be found on page 242 of "Mexican Silver" by by Penny Chittim Morrill and Carole A. Berk. There is one shallow indentation on one of the sombreros; otherwise the earrings are in great vintage condition.
