This is a gorgeous Elizabeth Taylor for Avon brooch of bright brushed gold-plated metal accented by black enameling in the manes, black eyes, three baroque pearls and clear rhinestones. It was sold in 1994 and is featured both in Marcia Brown's book "Rhinestone Jewelry - Figurals, Animals and Whimsicals" and also in Sandra Sturdivant's book, "Identifying Avon Jewelry". Eight strands of deep purple glass beads can be worn twisted in torsade-style or left to drape. The large, slightly domed gold-plated clasp has four oval imitation pearls, four green heart-shaped rhinestones and clear and purple rhinestones for accent. The strands are 21-1/2" long. The clasp is 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" and has the Elizabeth Taylor for Avon rotating clip. It is signed "ElizabethTaylor" and "Avon" around the familiar "E" in scrolly script.
