This beautiful book was published by Sir Isaac Pitman & Sons, Ltd. of London and is titled "The Life of Samuel Johnson" by James Boswell. Volume I covers 1709 - March 18, 1776 and this edition was "Newly edited with Notes by Roger Thigpen". It features leather corners and spine covering with gilt lettering and trim, marbleized page edges and marble patterned endpapers.
