This traveling show apparently was a successful venture since we found documentation back to 1908. The show used 40 or so local folks, no doubt to guarantee good attendance by friends and relatives eager to see them perform. A newspaper ad from 1908 reads "Buttons must be sewed on tight the night of the "Singin Skule Beginment: for the entertainment is said to be a regular "button buster". This heavy 12" x 18" paperboard poster has some damage in the lower left corner but is a fun collectible from a time when entertainment was predominately singing and skits. It advertises a performance under the auspices of the Mineral Wells Music Club on October 10, 1930. We'll include a copy of the 1908 document from rootsweb with it. Shipping Priority Mail - $5.
