This Interesting “Mickey Mouse Book,” is in Excellent Overall Condition, mid 20th Century. The piece is a “Mickey Mouse Book,” a “fantasy” item, not authorized by Disney, possibly made in South America. It comes in a fabric-covered presentation box. The object has a metal door on the front which opens to reveal a round piece of glass through which one sees the image of Mickey Mouse which is reverse painted on the glass. At the top of the piece is a slot from which a heavy card is inserted. When the card is inserted into the piece on the white side, Mickey is shown in black and white. When the card is reversed to the side which is marbled, Mickey is shown in color. The Mickey Mouse book design comes from the Bibo and Lang 1930 magazine considered to be the first licensed Disney Mickey book. Marked with a plaque stating registered owner 74247 on the inside of the presentation box and 002 on the wooden back of the piece.
