The method of decoration is underglazed purple transfer, with overglaze colored enamels.
The cup is 2-1/4" high, and the saucer diameter is 5-1/2".
Both pieces are in excellent condition. No chips, no cracks, no repairs, no discoloration. Both cup & saucer ring when tapped.
Both cup and saucer are marked H & S for Hilditch & Son, Staffordshire. The mark is Godden's 2027, which was used from 1822-30.
