Specializing in Early 19th C English Ceramics & Meiji Era Japanese Ceramics
This is a really cool bin, because the names of 8 spices are on a cylinder which can be rotated to show the spice currently being sold. The spices were: allspice, cinnamon, cloves, pepper, ginger, mustard, baking powder, and cream of tartar.
The bin is 12-1/2" high, 9-1/2" wide, and 9" deep. The top is hinged for opening and filling, The section at the front where it says Deane Bros. is also a cylinder, and rolls up so the spice can be dispensed.
As you can see, the bin is not perfect. The paint is worn off the area which says "Lincoln" and "Chicago". There's also a dent there. There is a dent at the back where one would open the bin. It is still quite attractive, because when the cylinder is rolled up, the damage to the front is hidden.
