Attractive 19th C Pratt Ware Pottery Plate, with a light pink ground surrounded by ochre borders. The scene shows a family resting from their journey. The print is signed: P. Wouvermann,Pinx, and was taken from a painting by the Dutch painter Philips Wouvermann.

The plate has a 7-1/4" diameter. It is in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs. There are a few light utensil marks which are not distracting.

The plate is unsigned, with no marks at all on the back. It is circa 1880 or earlier. It was made by F. & R. Pratt & Co., Fenton Potteries, Staffordshire, and uses their standard "123" pattern border.
