This gorgeous vase is heavily enameled in gold and covered with fine decoration. The neck is molded and covered in nishikide diapers. The two scholars are especially well painted.

The vase stands 12" high and weighs almost 3-1/2 pounds. It is in excellent condition. There are no chips or cracks. There is wear to the gold near the base (see photo). The vase is unmarked on the base, but one of the boys is holding a scroll with kanji written in red, which may be a maker's mark.
