Specializing in Early 19th C English Ceramics & Meiji Era Japanese Ceramics
Heavy Porcelain Cabinet Plate with perfect gilded edge is beautifully painted with Hops. The background is a pale celadon green. It is 9-1/8" in diameter and weighs over 1 pound, 2 oz. Excellent condition: no chips, no cracks, no repairs, no crazing, no wear to the gilding. A few utensil marks (what were they thinking of!).
No identifying marks on the back, but I think Continental rather than English. I believe it dates c. 1890-1920. From the local estate of an advanced ceramics collector.
