Originally used in the Edo Period, this hai dai most likely dates from the Meiji Era. Specifically made to elevate the warm sake cup for an elegant presentation. This hexagonal hai dai shows reticulation on each of its six sides. The blue border around the top opening is also pierced six times in the shape of a bird or bat.

It measures 4" wide and 2-3/4" high. There are firing cracks on 3 of the reticulated panels. Otherwise, fine condition. Please scrutinize photos.
