A sweet 19th C plate in one of the prettiest Gaudy Welsh patterns: Columbine. The plate measures 7-1/4" in diameter. It is of soft paste porcelain, c. 1840. No factory marks on the back.

This is the typical hand painted cobalt blue cartouche pattern with a pink flower at the center and in each of 3 reserves. There are copper lustre decorations on the blue parts of the wide rim, which did not show up well in my photos, sorry!

Condition? Plate rings when struck, so no cracks or hidden hairlines. No chips, no crazing, no repairs. There is a small nick on the edge (shown in photo 4) which may have been made by a plate hanger.
