Lovely Antique English Porcelain Milk Jug/Pitcher by Sampson Bridgwood & Son of Longton, Staffordshire. It is unmarked, but I am also offering on Ruby Lane a marked companion piece, the waste bowl for a tea set, which IS marked with the Bridgwood mark for 1885.

The jug measures about 5" (14 cm) high. It is a black underglaze transfer with bright overglaze enamels in turquoise, yellow, pink, green, and orange. The 2 figures are a servant stirring up the coals of the brazier so that the nobleman is able to light his pipe.

Excellent condition. Nice ring. No chips, no cracks, no crazing, no repairs. Even the gilding is in good shape!
