This tall, stunning vase is pictured in the book "American Art Nouveau Glass" by Albert Christian Revi, as his Fig. 41 on page 37. It is described as a "Gold Lustre vase with green leaf decoration; gilded bronze base signed "Tiffany Studios/New York"; height 26 inches."

The vase pictured here measures 25-1/2" , but is otherwise as described above. It is in excellent condition. No chips, no cracks, no repairs. The Tiffany number of this vase is 715. It weighs about 8 lbs. unpackaged.

Other published references to this type of vase may be found in:

1.) "Louis Comfort Tiffany" by Jacob Baal-Teshuva. He shows (on page 290) a photograph of a watercolor sketch from a scrap book of Tiffany, dated 1925. The sketch shows 3 glass vases similar to this one, and they are numbered 711, 717, and 712. Please note however, that Revi states: "no...cast bronzes were manufactured and stamped "Tiffany Studios" after 1918."

2.) " Louis C. Tiffany's Glass/Bronzes/Lamps" by Robert Koch. Similar "bud" vases shown on page 114.

3.) "Tiffany at Auction" by Alastair Duncan, page 27.

The outrageous height of this vase makes it quite rare. They are usually found about one-half this size! Privately purchased from a local Vashon Island estate
