Specializing in Early 19th C English Ceramics & Meiji Era Japanese Ceramics
Now, I need to explain that I am not a specialist doll dealer. A friend asked me to put her for sale on Ruby Lane. He has now removed the wig, so we can see all the markings: "made in Germany with a "K" on the left and "12" on the right. Then "J.D.K." "214". I have not undressed her completely.
Her bisque head has no damage whatsoever. Her nicely molded fingers are all intact. Her mohair wig is shedding, has now been removed, and I suggest replacing it. She has a few small cracks in her composition body, which is to be expected of a doll this age. At first I thought she did not have "sleep eyes" , as they are always open...but now I notice that when she is laid down her eye-lids seem to come down a tiny bit.
Her blue dress is quite old. Her bloomers and other underclothes are hand tatted. She comes with a few extras: a white nightgown, a blue coat, and the brown quilt mentioned above.
Please note: her hair is a dark blonde, not the reddish-blonde in some of the photos.
I will remove her pate for shipping, and stuff her head with tissue so her metal eye rockers don't move during shipping and crack her head. (Thanks for these instructions from a helpful Ruby Lane customer!)
