Steiff: Mama and Baby Teddy Bear

This limited edition(8,000) bear with baby was issued in 1981 celebrating the 101st Anniversary of the House of Steiff. They are a reintroduction of one of the 1903 bears first sold at the Leipzig Fair and in this issue was marketed exclusively to the American market. Mama bear is about 15" tall(38cm) and baby is about 6" or 15cm. Baby is strapped to Mama bear with an orange ribbon sash bearing the name Steiff. Both are made of gold mohair with synthetic stuffing; the same material as the original bear. Neither is fitted with a voice box. The ear tag stock number reads 0155/38 and the back is the set number 3,452. The bears are mint in condition and have their original box with acetate cover and certificate of authenticity. The box does have wear on the edges and the top acetate also shows a few battle scares.

A great addition for the collector, especially if you already have Papa bear!
