$96 USD Offers ConsideredBlue Ridge Southern Pottery Plates (set of 8)

Sometimes you come across items that one wishes to keep. Pottery:By Maker:Fiesta:Ice Pitcher
This classic Fiesta-ware pitcher from Homer Laughlin looks orange, but is what Fiesta-ware called "red". It is one of the original colors offered by this historic pottery maker in 1936. It is 6 3/8" tall and measures 9 1/2" from handle to tip of spout. It is in excellent condition...so much so that it's hard to imagine that it is at least 65 years old, as this particular design was last made in 1945. It is perfect for iced tea, lemonade, or any cold beverage. It has the impressed mark on the ...

This beautiful platter measures 15 x 11 3/8 inches and is rectangular in shape. It has very soft edge lines with only a slight scallop. The color is "teal" on white. Some may call this blue, but I see more green so I'm calling it teal. The Burslem mark with F & Sons is clear on the back. I believe the mark reads M10 where the pattern is identified. The platter is in great condition with no crazing, repairs and so forth with one exception. There is a small nick on a corner which I photographed up ...

Then comes streaks of black to accent the woven construction. Raised are flowers in deep pink, orange, and purple and green leaves. Overall of this is random circles of gold leaf ...
Roseville Jardiniere: Primrose

$565 USD Offers ConsideredRoseville Jardiniere: Primrose

Pottery:By Maker:Roseville:Jardiniere:Primrose

This is a beautiful Scottish ginger beer bottle with a double tone finish. The bottle is natural pottery color and the top a very nice warm brown/mustard. The glazed finish is in good condition and shines in the light. The bottle stands 8 1/2 inches tall and is 2 1/2 inches in diameter at the base. The maker of the bottle is difficult to make out, I believe the stamp to read CRISVENOR. The city is clear and reads Glasgow. These bottles date from prior to 1900, but I have not been able to date ...

Pottery:By Type:Yelloware:Bowl
This is a wonderful yelloware mixing bowl. I do not know the maker, it is not marked. The color is like speckled heart grits only in mustard. Decorative rings are outside under the top rim. It is a 10 inch bowl and stands at 5 inches. It is heavy: 3 1/2 pounds. Condition: I did find a hairline crack, about 2 inches long from the rim inwards. I did not see it, I had to feel it out. Henderson Pottery Foot Warmer

$150 USD Offers ConsideredHenderson Pottery Foot Warmer

Pottery:By Maker:Henderson Pottery:Foot Warmer
This is a heavy 4 1/2 pound foot warmer marked Henderson. The imprint at the bottom I cannot read, except for Pottery Works and Boston, Mass. The top line actually has the maker's name, but that is still a mystery. It comes with a chain pulled metal stopper and all the marks of a used item. The top has a crack (repaired) and there are a couple of line grates near the stopper. The base has a couple of spots that I believe just missed the glaze. I do not view these as detracting from such a rustic ...

Pottery:By Maker:Spode:Rosebud Chintz:Cup And Saucer
Spode is of course special. This is Rosebud Chintz, one the most popular patterns. I have but this one cup and saucer. If you are unfamiliar with Rosebud, the cup and saucer mold have soft swirls finishing in a scalloped edge. The overall design is deep pink roses with touches of yellow and green covering the entire surface. The set stands less than 2 1/2 inches, but the saucer measures approx. 5 1/2 inches in diameter. There are no nicks, chips, but under my glasses I see light crazing on the ...

Nothing really feels to the touch like Spode. This pattern is very versatile in its elegant simplicity. It is light grey ironstone with no pattern and a very slightly "spode" scalloped edge. The back says "Fine Stone" and I have seen it called "Graystone". The price is for the 10 1/4"plate. the 8" salad, and the London shaped cup and saucer. I have four sets. All are excellent in condition with no flaws to report. This is an excellent opportunity to begin a collection of fine Spode ironstone or ...

LuRay Platter

$10 USDLuRay Platter

Pottery:By Maker:Taylor,Smith, Taylor:Luray:Pastels:Platter:Pink
Taylor Smith and Taylor's popular LuRay line has always made me think of the countryside. This 12" oval platter actually I think would function nicely as a plate, just the perfect size and also weight. It is from the PASTELS and is no. 1501. Its PINK! And it is decoration free other than the impressed handles at the ends. The platter has no chips, nicks or the like. It does have about four spots where the pink did not cover in manufacture - all on the back. The mark is most readable. Thank you ...
Rookwood Vase

$240 USD Offers ConsideredRookwood Vase

Pottery:Art Pottery:Rookwood Vase
One could say this is advertising, but it is Rookwood so I believe any such standing should be elevated from advertising to corporate gift. We would be lucky to receive such. This beautiful piece resulted from two Cincinnati concerns: Rookwood and Western Southern Life Insurance. The incised stamp reads "A Human Institution Serving Human Needs" includes the "S" &"W" Logo and the dates 1888 and 1943. So we have an easy date for the piece at 1943. Rookwood's mark is also there below their ...

This beautiful ironstone tea caddy is from Mason Brothers. The pattern has several bright shades of green in the leaves and rather dark coloring for the flowers. The pattern is the same front and back. The box measures approx. 4 &1/2 inches x 3 & 1/2 inches and stands at 4 & 3/4 inches. I believe we can say the box is Deco in design form. I see no issues to report, so its in excellent condition. The mark is green and says: "made especially for Rosemary Shelton". Rosemary no longer has the box. ...
