This piece is lovely, bold and elegant at the same time. The simulated pearls or seed beads look to be milk glass with a slight bluish hue to them and they are pretty flush to the metal much like a Gypsy Setting.

The rose cut garnets or glass garnets are a vivid red in some light an a low light, nearly deep red in other light.

The gold tone metal looks to be pinchbeck and this is clearly a hand wrought piece with the old safety pin c claps which is possibly a very early replacement. The metal is rolled and there are warm darkened areas that the metal wasn’t perfectly hammered out that you can see in the side picture.

The applied scrolling metal is a nice touch, too and other than the back pin bar could stand to be tightened a bit it’s just fabulous!

I love the contrast between the smooth seed beads the flower like bezel setting and the sharper rose cut stones. They work perfectly with the low light gold tone metal!!

The Brooch Measures just shy of 2” Long and ¼” Wide albeit because the bar is rounded it’s just over 1” Around the Center with a cloth tape so it’s a nice, elegant but eye catching size.
