SOLD Art Deco Era Graphic Boxed Handkerchief Set
This set of hankies isn't the most amazing part of this set. The graphic on the box is spectacular! A brightly colored Art Deco lithograph of two women skiing down a hill adorns this amazing set. The design is full of bright colors and wonderful textures. The unclouded sky behind the skiers is gold and accents the purples, pinks, blues and greens of the illustration. There is no printing other than a number that appears to be "235" on this illustration. The box, also, has no maker's mark. Someone has written in pencil "Mrs. Bell" on the back of the box. Inside the cover's lid is written, "From Charles Maples" which leads me to believe this was possibly a gift to a teacher or girl-friend. The hankie set is unused and still pinned to its original tissue. The delicately embroidered set features a folded hanky with a pinned bow and an unfolded handkerchief behind it. It is in excellent, unused condition. The box has a small puncture in the green pants of one of the skiers and a spot of lifting on the gold. The box is remarkably bright and clean with a small "PX" stamped in blue on the back.
I will be happy to combine shipping on multiple orders. Shipping outside the Continental US will be determined after purchase.
