"Kudla and His Polar Bear" was written by Miriam MacMillan, the wife of the well-known explorer Donald MacMillan. The book is illustrated by Cleveland Woodward and was published by Dodd, Mead Company and copyrighted in 1953.

"How this small bear became the companion and friend of Kudla and his dog, Ipah, is a story that will make you think you are an Eskimo boy yourself. You'll go fishing, build an igloo, paddle your kayak (and have a dangerous accident!), eat very strange food and come to know some of the friendliest people in the world...and it is all very close to being true". Thus reads part of the synopsis on the inside front cover of this amazing vintage childrens' book.

The book is in very good vintage condition and is complete with its dust jacket. The inside end paper is signed by both Miriam MacMillan but also her explorer husband Donald Mac Millan. The book has blue cloth covers and a mylar protected dust jacket. The book has a tight binding and clean pages.
