"Penny Tunes and Princesses" was written by Myron Levoy and illustrated with brilliant paintings by Caldecott Medalist Keats. These wonderful illustrations evoke all the humor & warmth of Levoy's Chaplinesque character Janos, who must sell his violin to pay his passage to America. This is a wonderful tale of an irrepressible musician and dreamer.

This stated 1st edition was published by Harper Row and copyrighted 1972. The book has it's original dust jacket with a mylar cover. The DJ has a small tear on the top and through part of the trash can at the bottom (see photos). The black cloth binding has a paste-down illustration. The book is in good condition with some light foxing on the end papers, title page and one or two pages. The pages are otherwise clean and minimally yellowed.
