"Country Gentleman --America's Foremost Rural Magazine" became the oldest agricultural journal in America when "Genesee Farmer" and "The Cultivator" merged. This wonderful vintage magazine has an illustrated cover by Hy Hintermeister who was well known for his magazine and calendar illustrations in the 30's and 40's.

The magazine was published by The Curtis Publishing Company. This March 1936 edition features articles including "Dust Bowl" and "Power on Rubber" as well as works of fiction like "Play Away, Torrent!" by Leonard H. Nason.

There is a separate section called "Country Gentlewoman" containing recipes, articles on fashion and another section entitled "Girls' Life".

There are many wonderful vintage advertisements in this magazine from everything from Plymouth Motors to Congoleum Rugs. Many articles have photos and illustrations.

The magazine is in good vintage condition with some staining on the back cover and some tears at the spine. The binding is tight and the pages are clean.
