REDUCED Butterscotch ~ OM ~ Tibetan Resin Beads, Turquoise, Red Coral & Glass Necklace

.... presented for your consideration is my “Butterscotch” necklace. The focal bead and two side beads were designed by artisans in Nepal in the Himalayas. They are made of resin which is a natural gum derived from certain trees which hardens with age. The difference between amber, copal and resin is that amber and copal are much older and therefor, have more value. These three beads are permanently capped with sterling silver which have a repousse design and are hand-made in the traditional style by artisans from Nepal. They receive a fair wage for their exquisite work. I have begun using some Tibetan pieces in some of my recent designs and adore these exquisite beads. All of the Tibetan beads used in my jewelry come from a Tibetan family who lives in the United States, with relatives who are refugees in Nepal as well as in Tibet. It is a woman-owned company, which not only employs many family members in the U.S. but also provides jobs for more than 90 Tibetan refugees in Nepal. She is passionately committed to a free Tibet. Also incorporated into this necklace is turquoise (stabilized for strength), which I chose to blend with the focal bead, so the turquoise not only has greens, but also browns. Also there are turquoise heishi beads (5mm) and red coral rounds (dyed) (3mm). The white beads I believe are a rustic shaped round glass, but they could also be an agate stone and I am not sure of the origin ( they have been recycled from a vintage necklace which I have had for many years). All metal used in this necklace is sterling silver and it measures 24 inches or 60cm. The bust I use to display my jewelry is not to scale, so the necklace may appear larger than the actual size.
