This brooch has a single disk of Mother of Peal shell glowing in mellow iridescent shades of cream, beige and tan. It is bezel set and has a rope and bead frame. The brooch is 1-1/8 inches in diameter and has a pin back with simple C clasp. There are no markings and the metal appears to be brass. The brass has discolorations from age but the brooch is in good vintage condition with no chips or cracks in the shell. Circa 1900. This pin has a pleasant, old fashioned charm and makes a subtle and lovely accessory.
