15" Kestner 143 dressed in vintage wool sailor outfit

I just really love 143's! Their faces are so childlike and fresh. This particular version has an old blonde mohair wig that has become a bit fuzzy. He is all boy though in his navy-blue wool sailor outfit (lined) with its old brass navy type buttons and the cap with a celluloid (?) pin. His shoes with snaps are pretty dirty and made of cloth---I think they are vintage, not antique. The socks look older. His bisque is perfect and the lip paint is bright. His eyebrow paint is good, too. He has his original pate still glued on, but I would have to remove that to stabilize his eyes for shipping. His body is nice and tight and without problems. He is really very appealing and the right size for a cabinet or to display with other dolls in a vignette. This particular model is a favorite of collectors because of its timeless, innocent appeal. His neck marking says: C Made in Germany 7
