I am overwhelmed by the charming accents and delightful style of this pair of fine porcelain, Limoges Boxes. The lovely portrait of one of the lids is captivating. One is beautifully decorated with applied porcelain touches on a floral design and the other has a fine Masterpiece portrait in miniature. Both are Limoges pieces of fine quality, but only one bears the "Lantenier " underglaze white ware mark in green with anchor and "LIMOGES, FRANCE", ca. 1891 - 1914. The Lantenier mark is also well-known in the area of doll collecting. This exceptional quality portrait has been skillfully hand painted with absolutely stunning colors, creating a vivid and serene image of a fine "epoque" lady. This is another museum quality piece obtained from the "Delia Rees" Estate of the descendants. This is an investment quality piece of unique design. The round box is 3 inches tall by 3 1/4 inches wide. The square box is 3 square inches by 1 3/4 inches tall. These lovely boxes are in Pristine condition.
