For sale is this large and ornate repousse pitcher with outstanding decoration. It is decorated by six panels depicting daily life scenes, including two neoclassical figures at the top and under the spout. The amount of work on this pitcher is better seen than said (look at pics). The condition is excellent other than some silver wear on some areas showing the copper, with measures of 7 3/4" tall x 9 1/2" from handle to spout. It is hallmarked but I could not find the maker during my research. This piece is from the Estate of Lyman U. Humphrey who came to Independence, KS and settled with wife Amanda as a developer and investor. Lyman U. Humphrey served first as Lt. Governor of Kansas, then as the 11th Governor for two terms from 1888 to 1892.
