Featuring a fantastic piece of Empire Art. This a very elaborate Ink stand with many outstanding details. First, it is a Sevres style porcelain plaque with a courting scene (old staple repaired) second, it is a large intricate stand measuring 11 inches wide by 9 inches deep by 6 1/2 inches tall. The two Male and Female gilded figures are highly detailed holding a trumpet. The standing box like inkwell is beautifully decorated with a Dragon figure and floral decoration. Look closely at the front side of the base and you will see a shield on the very front which can be personalized with a beautiful monogram and on each side of the shield two Lion figures facing the shield. It repeats itself again on the sides, but on a smaller version. This is just a first class ink stand that will stand out on a very fine desk. The inkwell is clear cut glass in working order and the lid is complimented by a beautiful Royal Blue Velvet liner. The quality and beauty of this stand is not just to behold, it is also a rare find. Pieces like this are found in Museums and Mansion's, passed down to family members and rarely sold. High quality gilt pieces like this will sell for over 4,000 dollars, but because of the damage to the plaque I will sell it for a fraction.
