BEAUTIFUL "PURPLE VIOLETS" HAND PAINTED VICTORIAN ANTIQUE PORCELAIN BAVARIA LARGE TEA POT, circa 1900 ~ Chicago Artist Signed "Wands".

This exquisite Tea Pot is decorated in Gorgeous Bouquets of Purple Violets nestled in wonderful greenery ~ and is embellished with beautiful burnished Heavy Roman Coin Gold upon the entire spout, handle, along the rim, and even upon the round button-knobbed finial.

There is a charming and comfortable old-fashioned feel about this piece -- something in the palette of soft lavenders, creams and greens and the elegant sculpture of the curvaceous handle that brings back fond memories of my Grandmother and spending the afternoon together having a "Tea Party", sitting on her chaise lounge on a cold afternoon ~ awaiting hot tea to be poured, and then adding milk and 3 lumps of sugar....

This Beauty has been completely handpainted by the talented Artist: "William Wands". William Wands established an early Chicago Decorating Studio during the height of the Porcelain craze in Chicago. His Studio operated from 1910 -1916. During this era, he produced a large variety of colorful floral decor on virtually every porcelain medium....from Cups & Saucers to Tankards. Mr. Wands competed with the premiere studios of the day including Pickard, Donath, Brauer, Osborne, and Stouffer. The quality of his art work was such that it was often mistaken for competitors.

This Beauty is in Excellent Condition ~ no chips, no cracks, no hairlines, no paint loss, not even any gold loss to speak of. Measures a Large and Impressive 7 1/4" tall by 10" across from handle to spout. The factory mark underneath is illegible, but I believe it reads "Made in Germany" within a circle, dating this piece to the early 1900s. Thank you very much for viewing my shop. Please email me if you have any questions about this piece.
