Brass & Copper Hunting Horn w/ Repousse Horse & Hound Decoration

A great little handmade hunt horn (just look at that hand joined seam) decorated with a repousse hunt scene around and around and around it's brass edged bell... with horses and hounds in perpetual pursuit.

It looks as if this piece has seen some use, and since I found it locally I would not be surprised if it had been used in the local Millbrook, NY hunt. And it still works!

Condition is good. There are appropriate signs of use for a working piece including dents, and the surface has a lovely rich patina although it looks to have been polished in it's day as working horns were. There was a small solder tack that has let go which is of no consequence. Measures 5 1/2" long, and 3" across the bell.

A fantastically evocative decorative piece for a study or library... wonderful for a country home. Tally ho!
