A lovely set in Royal Doulton's wonderful Coaching Days Seriesware pattern, a favorite of many antique collectors. Seriesware was invented by Charles Noke in the late 19th C, and conceived to be decorative as well as functional, the items included everything from tableware to lamps, and displayed many designs grouped around a theme. Coaching Days is one of Royal Doulton's best loved and most desirable Seriesware patterns.

Condition is very nice. There is some expected overall crazing and minor loss to the green edge paint, notably one nick on the top edge of the back side of the pitcher (third to last photo). The tumblers measure 3 7/8" tall with a 3 3/16" diameter at the top, the pitcher measures 6 1/4" tall with a 4 9/16" bottom diameter. I believe the tumblers are referred to as 10 oz. tumblers, the larger of two sizes. The pitcher and one tumbler bear the Royal Doulton mark used from 1902 - 1922, while the other three tumblers bear a different Royal Doulton mark as shown. There are also various hand painted numbers, likely denoting the painter or style.

A fine group of pieces for a collector. The warm colors and evocative scenes of travel from days gone by invite you to mull some wine and sit by a crackling fire... mmm...
