Fabulous to Fun - Serious to Silly - An Evolving Selection - Questions? Comments? Information? - Email me - mjbakst@yahoo.com
The foods are tiny and very realistic, made of some kind of composition and painted with painted tin plates, very cool. And read the copy; is it just a bit archaic ala "Dick and Jane," or does it really scan like a poor translation?
The box is a treat in itself with fabulous graphics. Very evocative.
Condition is great, even the elastic that holds the foods down is still there. I can hardly believe there is only one food and a few plates missing... and I'm not even sure all the foods had plates to begin with. The box is in great shape too with only one split corner. The box measures 9 13/16" x 13 3/16". Early 20th C.
A great old American toy from the "Display Food Co., Saint Paul, Minnesota U. S. A." So dress up those dollies and let's do lunch!
