Antique paste jewelry is one of life's true luxuries, These glittering glass stones were never merely an imitation of the 'real thing', but were worn, loved, and considered the height of fashion. As paste was favored by the illustrious citizens of it's time, so it has drawn a coterie of sophisticated devotees today.

Look deep into the depths of this fathomless purple heart, and find all you would like to express. Give it, and all is said silently for you while lambent shafts of shimmering light dance around this heart of suggestions with a ring of purest sparkle.

Regal purple cabochon heart surrounded by fourteen white paste stones, all set in silver. Colored examples, like this, are avidly sought. Closed gilded back with C clasp and T hinge that may have been replaced or reattached sometime in the last two centuries. Measures 11/16" across not including the pin, which extends out almost an additional 1/4", and 3/4" tall. Likely Continental, probably French. Late 18th C or early 19th C.
