A beautiful pair of double-sided cufflinks with a decidedly feminine appeal... and you can double their charm because of the distinctly different designs on the two sides of each link.
One side displays a square of enamel, framed by sterling flourishes, and grading in color from a soft white to a lovely robin's egg blue. Each enamel square is further embellished by five stars of red and blue... so pretty.
The other side of these double-sided links is a repousse silver lozenge form. Each end of this lozenge displays an asymmetry in its decoration, typical of Art Nouveau design.
Condition is lovely and very wearable. A bit of the enamel has flaked off on one corner, but I bet you didn't notice. I've owned them for years and only saw this tiny flaw when I photographed them. Please look at the photos, and remember that the squares measure 7/16", and the lozenges 3/4" long. Marked 'Sterling' on the split link that joins the two decorative sides, and on the back of the enameled pieces, they are most probably American, and date to around 1900.
I am particularly intrigued with the thought of how this feminine design might contrast with a business suit... after all, opposites attract!
A lovely piece of Art Nouveau jewelry for your personal adornment, these alluring links will captivate your companions and bring you a profusion of compliments.
