I believe the hallmark is a Towle mark. The pattern is very similar to Towle's 'Arlington', which was introduced in 1884. I believe these are of similar vintage.
It is a beautiful set in a hard to find size. These little spoons are just 3 78" long... very dainty. The pattern is in deep relief, and although they are small in size, the handles are substantial, not flimsy at all. They have a nice weight in the hand.
There is a monogram ("MEB") on the back of each handle, the Towle hallmark, and each spoon is marked "Sterling 12". The name "A Townsend" is also on each spoon, and would be the name of the seller. The monogram could probably be removed if you desire, there's enough heft, but I think they're elegant just as they are.
Condition is great, just normal wear, no dents, dings , bends, repairs... nothing.
A sweet little set of spoons, looking for a great cup of espresso, and a nice tiramisu.
Item ID: RL-135
