Vintage Sample Colgate's Baby Talc Tin

This is one of the sweetest little powder tins we have had. It is an old sample of Baby Talc from Colgate & Co. of New York. The front has a picture of a little baby holding a talc tin with a little baby on it. Below the picture it reads; A Real Boric Powder with the company and patent information. The back side of the pale blue tin tells a little about the development of the powder. The top is gold color with a small lid that turns to shake out the talc.

It measures about 2 1/8” tall and 1 ¼” wide and is in very nice condition with good color and minor wear. There is fine speckling and lines when held at an angle in the light which is caused from the metal under the paint (see picture). There are some tiny flecks of paint gone on the back in the written section and also all along the raised ridge under the push on cap. The gold cap is bright and shiny and has stress splits on both ends which can be seen in the photos. The seam is slightly discolored.
