Vintage Jointed Teddy Bear - Golden

This sweet old teddy bear is probably from the 1930’s or 40's. It looks like it’s made of a soft, sandy gold mohair with cream colored linen pads. It has a shorn snout with stitched nose and mouth and plastic eyes. It is stuffed with excelsior and his head, arms and legs are all jointed. There appears to be a cry box in the body that on occasion makes noise when turned on its belly and stroked on the back.

He measures about 18" head to toe and is in nice condition with light play wear. His head is rather floppy and tends to hand low which adds to his character. There are some large stitches at the base of his head which may have been an attempt to tighten his head but it obviously didn’t work (see the close-up). The seams are open slightly on his pads as shown in the pictures.
