Vintage Carbide Bicycle Lamp - P & H Dazzler

This old carbide bicycle lamp is a Dazzler and was manufactured by Powell & Hanmer of Birmingham, England, circa 1910. It was named Dazzler for export and went by Panther in the United Kingdom. Dazzler is written across the top of the vent. The whole lamp is nickeled brass which is in generally nice condition but it does have some pitting on one side of the body and the other side of the canister. There are a couple of dents on the top in the front part of the vent as well as some discoloration of the plating. The canister has light stress cracks all around the top portion which are probably from manufacturing. The drip adjustment on the top is in good condition but the plating on the cap on the reservoir shows wear. Inside the burner has a dent. It appears to be complete and all original including the lens which is held in by a spring wire. The lens door is hinged on the right and clips closed on the left. The clip has some rust. Made In England is marked on the bottom where some of the plating is worn off. It has its original bracket which has some pitting and rust on one side.
