Vintage Stangl Bird #3405S Cockatoo Figurine

This colorful old pottery bird was made by the Stangl company as one of the Birds of America series. It has vivid colors and a high glaze. It is the “natural color” version in pinks, blues with additions of yellow, brown and green. This is the Cockatoo with the reference number 3405 (S) stamped on the bottom in blue ink (the S looks like a 3 but is indicated as an S). It also has what appears to be MS or SW for the artist's initials. The bird series was done in the early 1940's and was based on John Audubon's Birds of America books.

This measures about 6 3/8" high and the base measures roughly 3” by 2 3/8” It is in very good condition with no damage or repairs.
