This old bicycle lamp is a Twentieth Century kerosene light from the late 1800's and appears to have never been used. There are many different variations of the 20th Century lamp and this one is a very nice example especially in this condition. On the back it reads; Made in U.S.of America - 20th Century Mfg.Co.. This one has no model number or patent dates on it. The reservoir has a nice shape and is filled by sliding the lever that sits behind the wick adjustment knob and removing the top and the wick assembly. The lamp is mostly nickeled brass which is in very good condition. The lens holder and the inside reflector compartment are aluminum. It is hinged on the right and clips closed on the left. The original lens has the name "20th Century" embossed across the front and is in very good, undamaged condition. The side glass pieces (one red, one green) are in very good condition also. They are fixed and do not open. The top of the vent is also marked "Twentieth Century" and has a bail which folds up so it can be carried when it is not clamped to a bicycle. It has the original thumbscrew for the bracket but this lamp comes without a mounting bracket.
It measures about 6" tall with the bail down. It is in very good, unused original condition.
