Vintage Carbide Bicycle Lamp - Bauer

This old carbide bicycle lamp is a Bauer which is clearly marked on the raised vent over the burner. It has a nice bullet shape and is nickeled brass save for the lens clip and the spring bracket on the back. It has both of its original, clear, faceted jewels and the original thick, convex magnifying front lens. The lens door is hinged on the left and clips closed on the right. Inside is the original burner and metal reflector. On top is the drip adjuster and the eater reservoir cap. The carbide canister unscrews to fill and has all of the internal parts.

It is in nice original condition but not without wear. Much of the original nickel is worn exposing the yellow brass. The lens and jewels are in good, undamaged condition. There is some solder on the lip above the canister ring near the burner tube as it goes into the canister. This is pointed out in the photos. The is a dent on the back at the point of the bullet and there is rust on the inside canister parts. The plating on the steel bracket is weak.

It measures about 7" to the top of the winged drip adjuster. Email for additional photos.
