This is a very pretty cut steel buckle to be worn on a belt of sash. Cut steel was popular around the turn of the 20th century and many pieces were from France and England. This piece is unmarked but a fine example of the early craftsmanship with each piece individually riveted. There are two almond shaped pieces, two crescent shaped piece and the rest are faceted round pieces all in what looks somewhat like a pretzel design.
It is in very good condition with minimal wear and quite a bit of shine. There are no missing pieces. It measure about 2 3/4" at the widest point by 2" high.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
