This old chalk figure might be a display piece for selling bead necklaces or something of the like. The colorful, stereotypical Indian is holding a sign that reads; HOW with four hooks from which to hang something. His left hand is raised with his finger extended and something could also be hung from it. There is also an open pot on his back that resembles a drum which could hold something. The metal HOW sign is removable. On the bottom it appears to have its original felt. Nowhere do I find a maker but it could be a fun piece jewelry.
The Indian measures about 10 3/8” high and is in very good condition with minimal wear. There is a little paint wear on his hands and arms. The overall height with the sign in place is about 12 ½” and the base measures about 4 ½” in diameter.
