Vintage Large Candy Jar with Pedestal Base

This beautiful old pedestal candy jar was probably out of an old soda fountain or general store. The tapered jar has six panels as does the base and is very attractive. The collar near the top has an alternating design of rounded and pointed panels. The heavy but hollow pointed lid follows the six panel design. The lid and the receiving collar are ground which makes it more air tight for fresher candy.

It's an impressive looking jar measuring about 23 1/2" tall and about 6" in diameter at the base. The opening at the top measures about 4". It is in very good condition with minor wear. There are some tiny chips at the jar opening obviously from the lid bumping it while being opened and closed. There is also some roughness of little chips on the inside edge of the base. There are no cracks or other damage.
