Vintage Kerosene Oil Lamp Filler with Monogram

This bulbous spouted item is called an oil lamp filler and was used in the late 1800's for topping off oil and kerosene lamps. It has a nice shape with flowing lines. The large knob on the top unscrews to fill the bowl. A small cap is attached to a chain to keep the spout covered when not being used. The small plunger toward the front of the handle is depressed to allow air in while pouring. It is monogrammed on one side with what looks to be RSH. The bottom is marked Trade Mark with what appears to be a large S over a small S & Co within a circle. It is also marked Patented.

It measures about 4" to the top of the plunger and 5 " high at the end of the spout. It is in nice but used condition. The nickel plating shows some wear and has areas of brass and speckles of copper showing through. There is also a dent on the body on the reverse side of the monogram. It measures about 8 1/2" from handle to spout end.
