This pretty celluloid oriental woman is an old letter opener with a hidden pencil. She holds a fan to her face but the fan is a pencil on the other end and slips into the hollow handle of the letter opener. Her face has pretty detail and her wrap is decorated with pale colors. It was made in Germany and is marked such on the back.

It measures about 7 1/2" long and is in nice condition with minor wear and damage. The front appears to be faded a little as the colors on the back are slightly more vivid. The hollow celluloid blade tip looks like it has been chewed on a little and there is a small chip and crack off the top edge of the hand that holds the pencil as shown in the photo.
