Vintage New Home Cast Iron Sewing Machine

$365 USDVintage New Home Cast Iron Sewing Machine

Antiques:Accessories:Sewing Items:Sewing Machine
This old hand operated sewing machine from the early 1900's was produced by the New Home Sewing Machine Company. It is either the Little Worker or the Midget as they were almost identical and this ones identifying decals are too worn to distinguish. They were marketed as small practical machines as well as being portable for the traveler. It is basically the same size as the Mother's Helper model, also by New Home, which was sold as a child’s sewing machine. It is made of cast iron and is ...
Vintage Mueller Cast Iron Sewing Machine

$365 USDVintage Mueller Cast Iron Sewing Machine

Antiques:Accessories:Sewing Items:Sewing Machine
I believe this old cast iron sewing machine is a Mueller #12. It is japanned black with nice gold floral decals. The base has ornate detailing on its feet and front & back edges. It has seen better days but is still a nice little machine. The paint on the base still has good gloss but the paint and decals on the body are slightly dull although basically good. The plating on the bed plate is mostly gone and therefore rusted. The wooden knob on the wheel is probably a replacement as it is very ...
Vintage Metal Turtle Figural Tape Measure

$225 USDVintage Metal Turtle Figural Tape Measure

Antiques:Accessories:Sewing Items:Tape Measures:Figural
This is a nice old metal tape measure in the shape of a turtle. The turtle's shell is nicely detailed and reads; Pull My Head But Not My Leg. By pulling the head you pull out the pale green cloth tape which pulls out and retracts well. It has inches on one side only and is in nice condition with minimal wear. The little legs and tail sticking out from under the edge of the shell are fixed and do not move. Even the turtle's underside is detailed with ribbing. It measures about 2 1/8" head to tail ...
Vintage Lydia Pinkham Advertising Tape Measure

$125 USDVintage Lydia Pinkham Advertising Tape Measure

Antiques:Accessories:Sewing Items:Tape Measures:Advertising
This old celluloid tape measure has a portrait of Lydia Pinkham on one side in sepia tones. On the back it lists several of her health remedies like Blood Medicine and Liver Pills. It is larger than the standard size measuring about 1 3/4" in diameter. It is in nice condition with minor wear. The surface of the celluloid is good but there is some discoloration in an area at about 2 o'clock that is slightly lighter in color. The yellow cloth tape is very slightly frayed along the edges. It has ...
Vintage Celluloid Dog Head Figural Tape Measure

$285 USDVintage Celluloid Dog Head Figural Tape Measure

Antiques:Accessories:Sewing Items:Tape Measures:Figural
This is a beautifully made old tape measure in the shape of a dog's head. When I first saw it I was sure it was made of metal. It looks like bronze with the green patina in the crevices but actually it is made of celluloid. I don't know what kind of dog it is but it is nicely detailed. It is flat on the back with a round celluloid cover over the tape housing. The white cloth tape which pulls out and retracts well is marked Germany and has inches on one side and millimeters on the other. It ...
Vintage American Baby Hose Advertising Tape Measure

$145 USDVintage American Baby Hose Advertising Tape Measure

Antiques:Accessories:Sewing Items:Tape Measures:Advertising
This old metal tape measure is advertising American Baby Hose from J.H.Blaetz (Jacob Henry Blaetz ) of Philadelphia. In the center is the cute logo of a little girl putting on her stockings. The other side has a button which retracts the tape when pushed and a raised squiggle design against a black background. I believe the case is nickel over brass and it houses a 36" cloth tape. It is very nice condition with minimal wear. There is small blemish to the left side of the little girl that ...
Vintage Celluloid Figural Sewing Kit- Oriental Woman

$148 USDVintage Celluloid Figural Sewing Kit- Oriental Woman

Antiques:Accessories:Sewing Items
This is an old celluloid sewing kit in the shape of an Oriental woman. The woman has her hair adorned and is wearing traditional Oriental costume with her hands crossed in front of her. This is not a full figure as it goes to just below waist. The top portion lifts off to reveal a few sewing accoutrements. There is a pink celluloid tube with a cap and 4 celluloid discs dividing the space. There would have been thread of different colors wrapped around the tube and inside there would have been ...
Vintage Moldacot Sewing Machine with Original Tin Box

$1,600 USDVintage Moldacot Sewing Machine with Original Tin Box

Antiques:Accessories:Sewing Items:Sewing Machine
This unusual old contraption is a Moldacot Pocket Sewing Machine. It is a small machine which would lead you to believe it was a toy sewing machine but this well made machine was sold as a "perfect lock stitch sewing machine that will take any kind of material from the finest linen to the stoutest cloth." It appears this was an overstatement. It was originally patented by S.A. Rosenthal of Berlin in 1885 then manufactured by the Moldacot Company of London in 1886 & 1887. It is made to be clamped ...
