Return Policy
Ruby Lane and each of its independent shops want you to be satisfied with your purchase. To ensure your satisfaction and for the protection of both the buyer and shop owner, we have a Return Policy that each Ruby Lane shop owner honors. View Return Policy now.
Shipping/Handling/Insurance Policy:
Shipping at cost - I will quote on request. Many items are now free of postal charges - check the individual item description.
Postage from the UK to other parts of the world, particularly for small items, can be remarkably inexpensive. Do not hesitate to enquire - if the postage cost causes you to withdraw from the purchase I will understand. Whenever possible I use recycled packaging materials.
I now have a FedEx account. For smaller items it will probably be better and less expensive to continue to use Royal Mail, but for larger or more expensive items FedEx could be a better option than the mail service ParcelForce, and I can now offer you a choice of prices and services. FedEx does appear to be significantly more expensive than Royal Mail. When a shipping cost is quoted, or shipping is free, it will be Royal Mail and I will need to charge you the extra for FedEx.
Restocking Fee:
Our shop does not have a restocking fee.
Other Information:
I have a Verified International Business Account with PayPal. I will also accept cash or cheque payment in Sterling (UK Pounds) and cash payment in US dollars and Euros. If you are thinking of sending any other currency, please discuss this with me first.
Please make cheques payable to Oban Antiques.
Please note that I live on an offshore island and some of my stock is currently in secure storage on the mainland. In some cases there may be a few days' delay before I can calculate shipping or mail your purchase to you.
Please do not ask me to falsify Customs declarations by declaring an item as a gift or reducing the declared value.
