A Sterling Silver tea strainer, hallmarked in Birmingham, England 1908/1909. Fully Hallmarked and has a Registration number as well which reads: 5282.. (the last two numbers I can't make out). While the Hallmarks are mostly worn away on the handle, only the date letter 'i' for 1908 being fully readable, there are another set on the bowl, "k" for 1909. The maker's initials are T.H.H. It measures 6 1/2 inches long. No damage to the bowl and no crushing or mis-shaping, just a few tiny dents to the hollow stem and a point where the join at the side of the stem is visible.

This is an unusual piece. It has all the signs of a handmade piece, as can be seen from the photos, yet it has a registration mark and two hallmark dates, which indicates that a number were produced.

Please note that the copper/gold colour visible in the photographs is only the effect of the lighting, and the piece is all pure sterling silver.
