An original very early Victorian steel engraving from the 1830s, depicting Ravenscraig Castle near Kirkaldy, Fife, and an attempt at a dramatic rescue of the men from a ship which has foundered on the rocks.

Overall paper size about 10.8 by 8 inches. Actual image size (excluding wording) about 7.2 by 4.5 inches. From the original drawing by T. Allom, as were most of this series of prints. Paper a little browned with age with some foxing (brown spots) on the print itself but otherwise in good condition. The moiré effect which can be seen in the scan is not present in the original.
